12 Things I Did in 2012

I wanted to make a list of what I did through the year of 2012.  This list took a lot of thought but I am so glad that I am jotting down the things I did in 2012.

1.) Grew closer with God.  My relationship with my Father in heaven has grown deeper.

2.) I started this blog that you're reading right now! (I can't believe it has almost been a year)

3.) Our family of five moved out of our cramped apartment into a more spacious house.

4.) I started a new hobby which I ab-so-lutely love, knitting!!

5.) I switched majors (for the fourth and final time) to paralegal studies.

6.) Grew closer to my husband(sadly, tragedy has a way of bringing loved ones closer).

7.) I began praying powerful, meaningful prayers over all three of my children.

8.) Found my Zumba home!

9.) Rekindled  friendships and I am so glad that I did.  Ya know, we all need a friend or two.

10.) Found a new OB-GYN( whenever the time comes to add to our family, I'll be ready).

11.) Survived with having one car, whew!

12.) Turned 29!

Month of December

December was/is a busy month.  Between wrapping gifts to finding the perfect Christmas dessert kept me busy.  Not only was I busy with all things Christmas, I had three finals to study for.  In the end, I received As in all three classes (Go me)!
I promised myself that I would dedicate more time to reading.  I have always loved reading but being a wife and mom AND a college student, I wear many hats and reading was put on the back burner.  After completing The Fifty Shades of Grey Trilogy, I picked up The Litigators by John Grisham.  I am not a book critic by any stretch of the imagination but this was a good read in my opinion.  This novel was a New York's Best Seller! After reading The Litigators, I dove in to The Confession and I am now reading The Runaway Jury; all are written by John Grisham.
Honestly, I believe I got struck with writer's block blogger's block. With the busy month, life sort of took over and my blog took a back seat.  I will try my hardest to post more and stay up to date for ya!
Thanks for reading!

My Finished Cowl!!!

I started a new knitting project .  I believe that this was the perfect second project for a beginner knitter like myself.  The pattern was a peace of cake in my opinion.  The yarn I chose was Liberty Wool and its 100% so its extra comfy. **Please do not mind my lips** But please let me know your thoughts!

Thanks, Zumba Fitness

Thanks to Zumba Fitness, I have lost 3 lbs.  That may not seem like a lot but to me it's progress! Since the beginning of this year, I was 160 lbs.

Yeah, I tried all these other things:

  • Swimming(not good for my hair)
  • Jogging(my asthma gets the best of me)
  • Walking(I still like to power walk when I have time)
  • Pilates(I was actually good and enjoyed Pilates until I gave birth to my daughter almost three years ago)
  • Gyms(I don't want to be locked into a two year membership or pay an exorbitant amount of cash to get fit)

Zumba is all about having fun and feeling the music.  When you combine a GREAT instructor and GREAT music, you cannot help but get moving.  I absolutely LOVE Zumba.  I look forward to going three times a week. I dance and sweat, burning those calories.  I would encourage you all to try it, just once or maybe twice.  *Disclaimer I am not a physician*

  • The classes are an hour long
  • The classes are fairly cheap($5.00 a class)
  • There is no need to feel intimated
  • Men and women enjoy it( it's not just for women)
  • Once you get the steps down, you'll be a pro in no time
  • You'll feel sexy doing some of the moves they have you doing

Trader Joe's Speculoos Cookie Butter Review

You know, a picture is worth a thousand words and so is the cookie butter by Trader Joe's. Some of the words I would describe this innovation on the palette would be:
  • Kid-Friendly
  • Smooth
  • Creamy
  • Divine
  • Delicious
  • Additive
  • Preservative Free
  • Artificial Flavor Free

I probably will get the Bad Mom Award for what I am about to write but I used the cookie butter to make sandwiches for the kids last week for their school lunch.  I did not use jelly, however.  The kids were the envy at the lunch table when they told their friends that they had a "cookie butter" sandwich.  My 8 year old let some of his classmates smell his sandwich, lol!( Not sure I agree with that though)  He told me his friends had a one word reply, "Mmmmmmm."  He even told his friends where to buy it, at Trader Joe's! You wanna know how good it is? We have to go back to Trader Joe's to buy some more and I just bought it last Saturday. I want to try it on apples next time.
Would you be willing to try it?  What would you put it on?
They even give you tips on what you could try it on
